I came across Chariots of the Gods book in the late 90's and ever since I've been collecting books in this genre. Fascinating reading which opened my mind to other possibilities...I don't have to believe every single thing but they did open my mind.
To find out for myself that this genre isn't anything new was a interesting revelation...books have been written about Ancient Astronauts since at least the 1950's. Charles Fort did allude to it 1919.
Title: Flying Saucers on the Moon Author:Harold T. Wilkins(1891—1960) was a British journalist and amateur historian. Publisher:Peter Owen Limited Copyright: 1954 Edition: My epub
After 1947 and the earliest "flying saucer" sighting by Kenneth Arnold, he became fascinated with the saucer phenomenon and plunged into extensive historical research in the style of Charles Fort, eventually producing two Fortean saucer books which were widely read during the 1950s, Flying Saucers on the Moon (1954) and Flying Saucers Uncensored (1955), better known under its US title, Flying Saucers on the Attack.
Wilkins invites comparison with two other British Fortean authors who were his contemporaries, Desmond Leslie and W. Raymond Drake. While Drake patiently dug through ancient literature and legend to find "evidence" of ancient astronauts, Wilkins dug through ancient literature and legend to find "evidence" of earlier sightings of flying saucers.
Title: UFO* and the Bible Author:Morris K. Jessup (March 2, 1900 - April 20, 1959) Publisher:Citadel Press (NY) Copyright: 1956 Edition: My epub
In 1956, Jessup wrote the following in UFO and the Bible: “The skeptic—honest, dishonest, or self-deluded—will wonder why we appear to be blaspheming Christianity and the Good Book. The answer is, bluntly, we are doing no such thing! What we are doing is to rationalize and substantiate the Bible in the light of modern science, common sense, and a host of bewildering and unexplained events of UFO nature."
Jessup submitted the material in this book to his publisher as part of his manuscript for "The Expanding Case For the UFO." However, in a classic case of censorship, the material was rejected and returned to him, for possible use in a separate book. Luckily, Jessup arranged to have the separate book printed, with a lovely color cover (expensive for that time), so that we today may enjoy its mind-boggling implications.
Title: Secret Places of the Lion Author: George Hunt Williamson Publisher: Amherst Press Copyright: 1958 Edition: First American edition
Early traditions speak of the arrival of radiant beings from heaven, self-sacrificing guardians of the human race who have reincarnated as pivotal figures in the panorama of human history to assist in the work of evolution.
Secret Places of the Lion shows how these great ones have helped mankind for thousands of years, hiding their secrets in tombs, caverns, temple ruins, and catacombs. Posing as wanderers, they would declare universal wisdom and truth at certain periods of history when people were prepared to receive it; then they would withdraw for a time to see what was done with the new-found knowledge. Thus, the rises and plateaus of our cultural history emerged.
This groundbreaking, international bestseller, first published in 1960, couples profound insights into the hidden history of humanity and our perceptions of reality with the scientific evidence that supports the existence of paranormal activity, telepathy, and extraterrestrial communications. The first book to explore in depth the Nazi fascination with the occult, Pauwels and Bergier also broke new ground with their study of pyramidology, alchemy and its close kinship with atomic energy, and the possibility of a widespread mutation of humanity that would herald the dawn of a new age for the earth. Their study of secret societies, starting with the Rosicrucians, suggests that such changes are actively being pursued in the present day by a “conspiracy” of the most spiritually and intellectually advanced members of the human race.
The Morning of the Magicians also explores the anomalous events collected by Charles Fort, the work of Gurdjieff, and the history of the mysterious Fulcanelli, who was widely believed to have manufactured the philosopher’s stone--which provided the Nazis the motive for mounting an intensive search for him during their occupation of Paris. Much more than a collection of strange facts defying conventional wisdom, this book remains a sophisticated philosophical exploration of repressed phenomena and hidden histories that asks its readers to look at reality with ever “awakened eyes.”
Title: Chariots of the Gods?
Author: Erich Von Daniken
Publisher: G.P.Putnam's Sons
Copyright: 1968 in German
Translated: 1969 in English
Edition: First American Edition 1970 / 1st printing
Erich von Daniken's Chariots of the Gods is a work of monumental importance--one of the first to introduce the shocking theory that ancient Earth had been visited by aliens. This world-famous bestseller has withstood the test of time, inspiring countless books and films, including the author's own popular sequel, The Eyes of the Sphinx.
Theories of our earliest encounters with alien worlds, based upon his lifelong studies of ancient ruins, lost cities, potential spaceports, and a myriad of hard scientific facts that point to extraterrestrial intervention in human history. Most incredible of all, however, is von Daniken's theory that we ourselves are the descendants of these galactic pioneers--and the archeological discoveries that prove it... * An alien astronaut preserved in a pyramid
Thousand-year-old spaceflight navigation charts
Computer astronomy from Incan and Egyptian ruins
A map of the land beneath the ice cap of Antarctica
A giant spaceport discovered in the Andes

Title: The Sky People Author: Brinsley Le Poer Trench Publisher: Neville Spearman Copyright: 1960 Edition: First edition
Extremely rare and signed by author.
According to Trench in this book The Sky People, Adam and Eve, Noah any many of the other characters from the Bible originally lived on Mars. Trench believed that Adam and Eve were experiment creations of extraterrestrials. His claim was that the Biblical description of the Garden of Eden was inconsistent with what was on Earth and as Mars contained canals, that the Garden of Eden must have been located on Mars. He further claimed that the north polar ice cap melted on Mars, and this caused the descendants of Adam and Eve to move to Earth.
Title: Gods or Spacemen? Author: W. Raymond Drake Publisher: Amherst Press Copyright: 1964 Edition: First edition / first printing
One of the first to develop ancient astronaut themes, including "proofs" that many ancient civilizations were colonies of extraterrestrials who eventually lost their technological secrets and became indistinguishable from humans, and/or that many other ancient civilizations were the result of human contact with aliens.
Drake spent many years digging through huge archives of material, looking in his case for supposed anomalies that could support his scenarios of space aliens impacting human history.
Title:The Bible and Flying Saucers Author:Barry Downing Publisher:J.B. Lippincott Co. Copyright: 1968 Edition: My epub
He wrote in the book that Jesus was an extraterrestrial sent to earth to rid the world of sin and wickedness, he cited biblical lines such as Jesus was from another world (John 8: 23) to support his claims, Downing also believed that Jesus left earth in a flying saucer to another planet, or perhaps another spatial dimension.
In the book Downing claimed that angels from the Bible were actually aliens and that the "angelic aliens" spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai where he boarded a UFO to receive stone tablets, and specifications for the construction of the Tabernacle. According to Downing, aliens spoke to Elijah and guided the ancient Israelites, providing them with manna in the wilderness. Downing also claimed in the book that a flying vehicle operated by intelligent alien beings was responsible for the parting of the Red Sea.
